What is Girl Scouting?

Girl Scouts of the USA is the world’s preeminent organization dedicated solely to girls—all girls
In an accepting and nurturing environment, girls build character and skills for success in the real world.  In partnership with committed adult volunteers, girls develop qualities that will serve them all their lives, like leadership, strong values, social conscience, and conviction about their own potential self-worth.

The Girl Scout program is designed specifically for girls.  Their needs and interests are the basis for program development.  Activities are designed specifically to help girls develop critical life skills.

Girls have a place where they are encouraged to try new things and experiment with new ideas.  They are expected to be decision-makers and leaders.  They can take risks and learn from their mistakes in a supportive environment of their peers without social pressures to conform to stereotyped expectations.
