Janette Pollay and Camp Roundelay are available for troop use.  Take advantage of these fabulous facilities to plan supper meetings, day meetings, or even an overnight with your troop.  Outdoor training is required for use.

JANETTE POLLAY CABIN:

Located in Duluth, Janette Pollay Cabin is situated on 20 acres of land belonging to Northern Pine Council in Janette Pollay Park. The cabin provides year-round overnight accommodations for a total of 36. Facilities include an outdoor covered pavilion, fire circle, water pump, and latrines. Inside the cabin there is a fireplace, a sun porch/dining area, a fully equipped kitchen (including electric stove and refrigerator), main room, and an upstairs for sleeping.

CAMP ROUNDELAY:

In addition there are covered wagon units and small cabins which are available and accommodate from 8 - 20. Facilities include 2 private lakes, a shower house (May - October) and an established waterfront with swimming and boating areas.

TRAINING AND SAFETY

A Troop Camp Trained adult must accompany a troop/group for all overnight camping whenever a troop camps. A Troop Camp Trained adult must complete the Council-sponsored Troop Camp Training, including an overnight session, to take part in camping activities on Council owned sites. For camping on non-Council properties, Troop Camp Training is also required.

A qualified First Aider must also accompany a troop/group on any camping or cook-out type activities. (See Safety-Wise pp. 87 - 91.)

For water-related activities, such as swimming or boating, a currently certified Red Cross Lifeguard or Water Safety Instructor must be present. (See Safety-Wise pp. 119 – 123).

Also, refer to sections on Adult Education, Forms, and Insurance for more information and details.

An application packet will be sent and should be filled out completely and sent back promptly. Council sites can be reserved for troop use up to three months in advance; all other groups can make reservations up to two months in advance.

The Council will require a $20 deposit when you pick up the keys for Janette Pollay.  Your deposit will be returned to you once you have returned the key to the office.  You may use cash or check for your deposit.  Your check will not be cashed unless you do not return the key to the office.
